Today, on World Mental Health Day 2025, Seva Bharathi Telangana presents our commitment to mental health which we live by every day. Mental well-being isn’t a separate goal, it’s at the heart of everything we do as part of holistic development of the under-privileged society.
For lakhs of our beneficiaries including, hundreds of orphans, thousands of rural youth, lakhs of women and men across Telangana, emotional health is not treated as an afterthought. It’s built into the very fabric of our programs, from classrooms to counselling rooms, from skill training centers to playgrounds.
At the heart of Seva Bharathi’s programs and projects, one will find a simple belief in action: mental health flourishes through engagement, not just intervention. Children, youth, adolescent girls and boys, men and women all are encouraged to play, paint, explore, and express not only for fun but also to build resilience, social connection, and emotional balance.
Some of our initiatives
At Ekalavya Ashram, Mancherial, poor tribal children receive more than just education. Being away from home comes with challenges, and through sports, cultural activities, and mentorship, they find strength, belonging, and identity, everything crucial for mental well-being. These tribal children have natural skills of playing kolatam/folk dances and these are encouraged by our volunteers.
Our Kishori Vikas centers help adolescent girl children in slums by offering them a space to grow confidently at their own pace. Every month, we organize sessions on health or communication and not just about skills. It’s about nurturing self-worth, helping each girl find her voice and believe in her potential.
Jignyasa Mobile Science Lab, a project aimed at reducing the drop-out rates, visits rural schools not only to teach science but also focuses on games and moral stories. For children who often feel disconnected from life and education, the spark and excitement becomes a source of pride and a quiet boost to mental health which motivates them to continue.
At our Skill Development Centers, men/women learning tailoring or computer skills gain more than employability. They gain independence, confidence, and peace of mind.
Across all programs, mental health awareness and counselling are ongoing priorities. Apart from this, our volunteers are trained to recognize stress, anxiety, or depression early and offer compassionate support. Whether it’s in a hospital, school, or hostel, care for emotional well-being goes hand in hand with physical and educational growth.
At Seva Bharathi Telangana, we’ve learned that true development happens only when mental health is part of daily life. This World Mental Health Day, we celebrate not a single initiative, but an everyday commitment to make well-being a way of life.
